Haul Blog Part 2 -Fashion

This one is going to be MUCH shorter then my Beauty Haul.

Basically, I just want to you all you lovely ladies a heads up that Lilly Pulitzer has invaded T.J. Maxx. I got some insane deals over the weekend!!! It was REALLY hard to control myself but I did! You should all head over to your local T.J. Maxx's and see what you can score!

On another Lilly related note...
I ordered my Andover dress (in Prep Green Hit The Spot ) and Shift Dress Reader Case on the day they were giving out those cute little plushies with purchase, unfortch I was too late to the party to get one. Well, to my suprise the great people at Lilly sent all of us late birds the cutest necklace (Which I love even more)!!! As if I needed another reason the love Lilly anymore. The necklace came on one of those circle chokers which I'm not a fan of, but I just headed over to Hobby Lobby and got a gold chain to replace it with!

SOoooo cute I can't WAIT to wear it on Easter!!!!

I loooove it and the best part it's only $5!!!!!

My 'consolation prize.' I'll post a pic of it once I get the new chain on.

p.s. This series has been cross posted from my personal blog and the one that is now my primary blog. Both Emma and I are in Grad school right now and we're just too busy to update here. So for the time being this will pretty much be a once a month posting type blog. We love all of are readers and have had a lot of fun blogging but schools just insane right now.

Haul Blog Part 1 -Beauty

I recently became obessed with the Youtube beauty Gurus (I know, I know it took me foooorever!) I especially love when the do 'Hual' videos. My recent discovery combined with my big weekend of shopping inspired me to do a bloggy version. I'm going to break it up in 2 sections 1-Beuaty and 2-Fashion. (Both parts are going to be long and picture heavy).

*Disclaimer- I'm in no way being paid or endorsed by any of the companies I mention in either part of this Haul Blog. I did not receive any of the product for free in exchange for a review or mention on my blog (I can show you my bank statement as proof lol). This is NOT about bragging. It's just about sharing ideas and inspiration.*

This past weekend I decided that I had enough of bouncing around with foundations (drug store and higher end) only to have my skin break out again. So, I went back to the only foundation that has ever made my skin happy, Clinique. I have really fair, sensitive skin and seriously I've tried all kinds of foundations (even Bare Minerals) but all have them made me break out. But for me Clinique is the way to go. Since it had been forever (like since high school) since I'd used Clinique I needed to restock on everything...

This is their 3-step skin care system. I'm a 2, but if you're thinking about getting this you HAVE to go to the Clinique counter and have them tell you your number because it's varies from person to person and there's a lot of combinations.

I LOVE this stuff!!! It's amazing! It makes my skin feel soo nice!

This is their Perfectly Real foundation. I'm a shade 1. I've ALWAYS had a hard time finding a foundation that matches my skin tone since I'm sooo pale but this matches perfectly. It also has nice coverage (I like full coverage).

I LOOOOOVE loose powder and this is the best one I've ever used! It has enough coverage to be used alone if you're just running out really quick. The only thing is DO NOT use the brush that comes with this use a Kabuki brush it works sooo much better.

Urban Decay Primer Potion. This stuff really is magic! I used it today and my $3 Wet and Wild eyeshadow stayed all ALL day and didn't crease! I don't know what I did without this adorable little bottle in my life.

Laura Mercier concealer. I've always had a big problem with under eye bags (cause I never sleep). This stuff it aaaammazzing it makes them disappear! I use a 1 and its a great color match for me.

Finally....

Nars blush in Orgasm. I have to tell y'all a little story first. I LOVED the show Popular and ever since I saw miss Mary Cherry use Nars on the show I've always, always, always wanted Nars. Unfortch I lived in a small little town and the closet place to buy Nars was 3 hours away. But I now that I live muuuuch closer to 'real' malls I can finally live my dream (lol). Ok back to the review. I was never a big blush fan until I finally gave into the hype and bought this. I think this blush looks good on all coloring its just awesome! It gives you just enough coloring to have that 'glow.'

Please remember you don't HAVE to buy higher end makeup. I use a mix. For my foundation, powder, concealer, blush, yes I do use high end; but my eyeshadow, lip gloss, mascara, and eyeliner are all drugstore brands. Just like with clothes I think mixing high and low is the best policy!

Hunnie, Baby, Sweetie...

At the grocery store today the guy behind me said "oh babe I think that self check out is opened" and it got me thinking about how much I love it when guys use cute names on me and how I just don't understand how some Fem-Nazis hate it!

To me it's a sign of endearment, not an insult or put down. It makes me smile every time I hear it.

I used to me one of those ladies who HATED when a guy would open the door for me. I always thought "How dare you! I can open my own damn door, thank you very much" but then I read this...

"A southern belle is a girl who knows full and well that she can open a door for herself but prefers for the gentleman to do it because it demonstrates a sense of respect. After all, every girl wants to be treated like a princess. We know how to make sweet tea and grits while telling you everything about any football team in the SEC. We pick our battles and fight with the heart of a pit bull while still maintaining grace and elegance. Our mystique is that of a soft-spoken, mild-mannered southern bell who could direct any army, loves her momma and will always be daddy's little girl."

I was like OMG that's sooo true!!!

Enjoy it ladies!!! It's a nice compliment and there are WAY worse things that guy could do then call you hunnie as he opens your door!

RIP Alexander McQueen...

I just heard some truely heartbreaking new, Alexander McQueen passed away today (on the eve of London's Fashion Week).

For those of you who didn't spend your undergrad studying fashion, Alexander McQueen was an absolutely brilliant British designer.

I ADORE his work! He was truly a great artist his designs and shows were always awe inspiring. This is an immense loss for the fashion world.

Alexander, fashionistas all around the world greatly miss you. My thoughts and prayer are with your friends and family.

Even though he is no longer with us he will live on through the fabulous art he created.
